Nutrition

It is essential to instill the importance of healthy eating habits and the preparation of food under healthy conditions from the birth of your child. Therefore, our school's meal menu includes a variety of healthy food items such as vegetables, fruits, proteins, and many other nutritious elements that a child should consume daily according to the food pyramid.

During the preschool years, a child should be able to prepare their own meals when necessary. The process of learning to select healthy food items can begin with an enjoyable activity such as a visit to a market or a grocery store with a parent. You can teach your children the tricks of selecting healthy vegetables and fruits and help them understand what to look for on the label of a product by reading it aloud to them. Starting the habit of consuming homemade healthy soups, vegetable dishes, and meat rather than ready-made and frozen foods like french fries, pizza, or hamburgers at an early age will assist in developing healthy eating habits for your child's future choices in adolescence and adulthood.

Healthy eating is a crucial part of our daily program at Binbir Çiçek Montessori Preschool. Therefore, we expect parents to provide the necessary support in conveying and teaching the importance of healthy living and eating nutritious foods to our children with great sensitivity.

The best way to teach our children the value of food is to set an example by choosing natural and minimally processed foods in our daily lives.

ALLERGY MANAGEMENT

If your child has any allergic reactions to food or objects, please inform us during registration. In such cases, a new dietary program equivalent to our daily nutrition program will be implemented to prevent your child from experiencing allergic reactions.

Please do not send any sweets, junk food, or deli products to school in any way. This is because we have children at our school who have serious allergies to such foods.

Our healthy eating program encompasses all activities organized at the school. Therefore, it is important to pay attention on behalf of allergic children that the cakes chosen for birthdays or special occasions should not contain food coloring, fondant, caramel, chocolate, excessive cream, etc., or a list indicating the contents of the shared foods should be sent on any given day.

At Binbir Çiçek Montessori Preschool:

  • Foods are obtained directly from their original producers.
  • Seasonal foods are selected.
  • Instead of frozen ready-made foods, daily and fresh homemade foods are preferred.
  • Low-nutrient snacks or deli products are not used.
  • Healthy cooking methods such as boiling, baking, and steaming are preferred over frying, smoking, or cooking on charcoal.
